2-day workshop on latest trends and technologies related to cyber security.
DAY 1
The workshop was led by Mr. Gururaja H S, Assistant Prof, Department of ISE, BMS College of
Engineering on network security and cyber security. He also covered vulnerabilities of the wireless LAN
and the necessary precautions to be taken. The session took place in an enthusiastic manner and was very
informative for all the attendees. To make the session more interactive and cheerful the session was
followed by a quiz and the winner was presented with IEEE goodies.
DAY 2
The second day of the workshop was lead by Mr. Vijay Shankar Naavi, Director of the cyber law college.
He covered important topics under cyber laws. It was an Expert talk which focused on the area of interest
regarding digital signature, hashing, and adjudication. He even gave insights into legal actions taken
against cyber crimes. The session was overtaken by Mr. Sulakshan, Security Solutions Architect, IBM,
who spoke about companies sticking to compliances. He also spoke about how ML and AI are used in
cyber security. He gave a brief insight into Predictive analysis and explained how companies deal with
cyber vulnerabilities.
A sapling was presented to the speakers on behalf of IEEE CS chapter BMSIT&M as a mark of the green
initiative.
